Problem with Exo-Terra Bulb blowing
I had a 100w heat lamp and 75 night glow lamp, well actually 2 of each and they keep blowing. I live in South Africa and our wall plugs kick out 220/230V. I have the lamps in Porcelain Bulb Holder with electrical cable running to a plug and then obviously into the power socket. Should i be using fuses or what and i doing wrong. Its getting a bit annoying and not to mention expensive to keep replacing these lamp. Should i put a surge protector on the wall socket?? would that help? I have just bought a fairly expensive ceramic heat emitter and dont want the same thing to happen to it.

you might find your bulbs are not compatibly with your electricity output this is usually common if you buy off the internet, try getting a lower watt bulb, but i would say it is not the bulbs but a compatibility problem, you could try a converter to see if it helps, also if your bulbs keep blowing i would advise a surge protector for safety it might stop the bulbs being blown
